Dr. Rattner can treat all of your periodontics needs including bone grafting, gum grafting, crown lengthening, cosmetic periodontal surgery and dental implants.
Dental Implants are the most predictable and natural form of tooth replacement. Dental implants are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth which look, feel and function like natural teeth. Implants allow a person to regain the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that their teeth appear natural and the structure of their face has been preserved. In addition, implants also help to preserve the remaining bone, preventing further deterioration, which occurs when teeth are missing.
Dental implants might be the answer if you have lost some or all of your teeth. The specialty of periodontics includes dental implant treatment. There are many advantages of dental implant treatment. Our section on dental implants will explain these advantages and what is involved in implant treatment.

Dr. Rattner has received extensive training in implantology. He has been successfully placing implants since 1985.
There are 4 phases to dental implant treatment. They are:
Bone grafting can repair implant sites that have inadequate bone structure due to previous extractions, gum disease, or injuries. Major bone grafts are typically performed to repair defects of the jaws. Sinus bone grafts are also performed to replace bone in the posterior upper jaw. When the sinus wall is very thin, it is impossible to place dental implants in this bone. The sinus lift graft makes it possible for many patients to have dental implants when years ago there was no other option other than wearing loose dentures.
Cosmetic Periodontal Surgery
Cosmetic Periodontal Surgery is a predictable way to cover unsightly, sensitive, or exposed root surfaces and to prevent future gum recession. Dr. Rattner can correct this by performing the periodontal plastic surgery procedure, crown lengthening. Another cosmetic periodontal procedure is the soft tissue graft. It is used to cover unattractive tooth roots, reduce gum recession, and protect the roots from decay and eventual loss.
